Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This role is a permanent position on a 7:7 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.

 

As the Maintenance Supervisor - Electrical, you will provide electrical expertise and leadership ensuring safe execution of tasks, and driving operational efficiency in alignment with schedules, safety standards, and performance targets.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

 

Supervise and lead a team of Trades and Contracting companies to safely execute shutdown plan. Ensure all electrical work is designed to standards and delivered effectively with minimal disruption to the electrical assets. Assist with development of shutdown electrical scope of work and schedule with shutdown planners and coordinators. Design, plan and execute project work and improvements through the execution teams via engagement with contracting partners.

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

 

Proven experience in an Electrical Maintenance supervisory role within the Mining industry. Strong knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment. Passion for continuous improvement, prioritising safety. Proficiency in 1SAP (highly desirable) Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

 

Relevant trade qualification (Unrestricted A Grade Electrician) Ability to be Registered Nominee under GEMCO’s Electrical Licence C Class Driver’s Licence Supervisor G1, G8, G9 and Risk Management G2 qualification
