Maintenance Supervisor (HVAC)

Description:

ATCO Frontec is seeking an experienced and customer-orientated Maintenance Supervisor with a Red Seal Journeyman HVAC/Gasfitter Certificate to join our ATCO Facilities Solutions team in Edmonton, AB. 

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the assigned portfolio, which spans multifamily residential and commercial clients within the Edmonton Zone. 

The successful candidate must be willing to work with some out-of-city and overnight stay requirements, as required. 

Tools, uniforms, PPE, work cellphone, and a company vehicle will be provided for work duties. 

Responsibilities:

Supervision & Leadership

Provide leadership and guidance to a team of staff, including both unionized and non-unionized employees. Plan, supervise, inspect, and schedule the overall day-to-day and maintenance operations. Ensure facilities comply with safety, electrical, plumbing, mechanical system, refrigeration, and pool filtration requirements, and take necessary action to resolve non-compliance as appropriate.

Maintenance & Operations

Oversee and maintain heating and cooling systems (HVAC), plumbing, and other building infrastructure. Conduct timely inspections, testing, and accurate reporting of equipment defects and deficiencies. Replace toilets, bathroom and kitchen sinks, bathtubs, hot water tanks, and furnaces (40,000 & 60,000 BTU). Utilize power augers for toilet, bathtub, and main lines. Occasionally install tiles around bathtubs or sinks.

Project Management

Responsible for scheduling work to maximize time on tools. Possess experience in project scoping, estimating, planning, and executing work. Coordinate small to medium capital projects, renovations, and other special projects. Coordinate, schedule, and monitor the work of suppliers, vendors, and contractors to ensure safety and compliance with contract terms.

Compliance & Standards

Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded. Guarantee all installations, repairs, and maintenance comply with appropriate codes and environmental protection requirements. Contribute input for planned and scheduled work and assist with completing the committed schedule.

Qualifications:

Red Seal Journeyman Certificate in HVAC/Gasfitter with a minimum of 3 years' experience. A Class B Gas Fitter License is required; Class A is preferred. Valid Class 5 license and clean driver abstract. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read drawings and blueprints. Proven ability to build and work effectively in a team environment, with a strong commitment to personal and team safety. This role demands a hands-on approach and extensive knowledge in various trades, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the assigned facilities. The successful candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills and the ability to manage both daily tasks and larger project efforts effectively.
