TITLE: Maintenance Team Leader
NATURE OF WORK: This position requires leading a team of maintenance technicians and apprentices in support of the production facility, equipment, and systems. Team leaders can perform all tasks conducted by the team and will be a working team leader. Hours will be Monday-Friday from 2:30pm-10:30pm with occasional overtime during the work week and weekends.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED (The following duties are typical for this classification. However, any one position may not include all duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties which may be performed.)
Ensure that maintenance team adheres to all safety rules and policies (OSHA, NEC, NFPA, Corporate, etc.) Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and team members as needed to in relation to equipment/facility issues, downtime, etc. Monitor maintenance calls and ensures issues are addressed in a timely manner. Allocation of resources to address calls by priority area. Assist engineering department in root cause analysis and corrective actions for repetitive downtime issues. Identifies information by categorizing, estimating, and/or recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events. Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify repair needs or other problems or defects. Mentors other team members in methods and practices as necessary. Observes, receives, and otherwise obtains information from all relevant sources. Monitors and reviews information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems. Handles, installs, positions, and moves materials, and manipulating things. Operates machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles). Determines the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Adjusts actions in relation to others' actions. Rotates through all the tasks required in maintenance activities. Determines work assignments and procedures. Operates heavy equipment such as forklifts. Scheduling team member working hours (requires management approval), vacation time, and weekend work. Inventory management duties for spare parts and non-spare parts inventory Material requirements planning for project work Performs all other duties as assigned by management. Manages and directs team’s daily assignments Provides reports and documentation to Engineering Manager Determines activities to promote team building Evaluates maintenance tech skills and suggests additional training Conducts/Coordinates training of team members as appropriate Develops plan and coaches any corrective action as neededKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations). Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong to include solving the problem. Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. Ability to prioritize and complete diverse tasks Ability to lead and motivate others
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Physical Ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Physical Ability to stand for long periods of time. Physical Ability to make fast, simple repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Physical Ability to operate a variety of tools required in the practice of the maintenance trade.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
HS Diploma required.
Sr. Maintenance Tech experience required
Must successfully complete Team Leader selection process
