Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs various types of general maintenance work, including plumbing and piping, metal fabrication, installation, relocation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, maintenance of electrical equipment, building additions and alterations, welding and burning, carpentry and painting, and follows lockout procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Performs general maintenance operations, such as, welding, pipe fitting, leveling of machinery, carpentry, and other operations.Sets up and operates machinery, such as, saws, drill presses, wood working equipment, pipe threaders, and other machinery incidental to general maintenance work.Troubleshoots (assembles, disassembles, repairs, and installs) mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.Erects, installs, tests, and maintains equipment and structures, such as, jib cranes and air compressors.Sets up and operates production equipment as required.Follows lockout procedures for each piece of equipment serviced.Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained.

This position is in a production environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving machinery and trip hazards where personal protective equipment such as head, eye, hearing, and foot protection, including composite toed safety shoes, are required.
This position may be exposed to welding, machining, forming, metal surface treatment, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other metal working and assembly processes.
Additional PPE may be required as determined by the environment
