To provide basic daily maintenance for University buildings and equipment.
Performs basic maintenance/repairs in all fields. Includes electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry repairs involving bulb replacement, switch/outlet repair, filter replacement, unclogging plumbing fixtures, repairs to doors, windows, and roofs.Interprets scope of work assigned, time involved, materials needed, orders and picks up materials. Performs clean up and material return from job location, maintains tools used and returns tools to shop at end of each day. Interprets basic mechanical meters and properly operates electrical machinery within crafts. Involves operation and understanding of volt/ohm meters, thermostats, thermometers, pressure gauges, plumbing cables, table saws, drill press and etc. Performs preventative maintenance inspections, makes necessary repairs, and completes paperwork of such preventative maintenance in a timely manner. Assist in emergency and after hour repairs as needed. The above statements describe the job’s essential responsibilities and requirements.
