Shift Details: Mostly days; M-F 8:00a-4:30p, a few evenings with fair share of holidays and weekends

Summary:

Performs repairs to buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds. Working knowledge of basic building systems to include HVAC, boilers and chillers. Basic computer skills are required to include knowledge of email programs, Microsoft word and excel. Electrical knowledge and a strong mechanical background with applicable troubleshooting skills are required. General construction knowledge of wall repair, painting, flooring and carpeting. Will need to work with co-workers, supervisor and manager to coordinate and complete jobs, safely and efficiently. Other responsibilities include completing work orders, preventative maintenance on equipment, plumbing repairs, furniture moving, equipment checks, water testing and snow removal. Reports to Plant Services Supervisor, Manager and Director of Facilities Management. The Plant Services Coordinator will assign daily work orders and PM’s. Must possess good communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

1. Inspects, tests and performs repairs of all physical facility machinery, limited-heating, cooling, piping and electrical systems, records maintenance in accordance with schedules and resources available; provides appropriate follow-up with identified wear and defects of various system checks.

Obtains work assignments from Plant Services leadership, contacts person requesting repairs and determines details of repairs needed. Obtains tools and supplies required to complete assignments.Provides timely assistance for emergency repairs to minimize the dislocation of other departments to a minimum.Maintains an inventory of repair supplies and materials and prepares requisition slips for Plant Services leadership signature(s) as replacement needs dictate.Maintains workbench and work area in a neat and orderly fashion with consideration to safety factors while working throughout the facility.Maintains accurate and complete records of all inspections and repairs performed.Maintains an inventory of tools and equipment necessary to perform tasks as assigned.Responsible for timely report of any equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to supervisor or director. Performs minor repairs to building fixtures, performs minor plumbing repairs, cleans electrical fixtures and replaces bulbs, performs touch-up painting.Assists in monitoring all equipment in the facility.Assists with maintaining clean grounds around the facility.Works alone or with co-workers to move furniture, equipment or supplies as needed.Assists, as needed, with seasonal changeover between heating and air conditioning systems. Assists with various outside work as needed. Outside work includes but not limited to shoveling snow, operating snow moving equipment, trimming shrubs, cutting weeds and other work associated with keeping the facility grounds properly maintained. Demonstrates the correct use of the fire alarm panels at all campuses, to include fire suppression & pull stations. Understands equipment operation and maintains and troubleshoots problems. Includes, but not limited to, snow removal equipment, general hand tools, furniture moving equipment, televisions, exhaust fans, air handler units, boilers, chillers and generators. Assists Plant Services staff with projects and /or assignments from Plant Services leadership.

Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary.

The requirements listed below must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.

 

EDUCATION:

GED or High School Diploma preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Previous healthcare experience preferred.

 

SKILLS:

Language Skills – Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required.

 

KNOWLEDGE:

Basic computer skills, ability to type required.

 

Other Certifications/Requirements:

Current, valid driver’s license issued in the state of legal residence required.

Operate FRHS owned vehicles required.

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) obtained within six full months from date of hire required.
