Maintenance Tech III - Glen Eyrie

The Maintenance Technician III shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.

This position works with the Facilities Department and team providing maintenance, repairs, remodels, and general construction for all the buildings and grounds. This work will be performed at both Glen Eyrie and Eagle Lake properties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Maintenance - Provides support to all aspects of the facilities operations:

This includes but is not limited to buildings, grounds, and vehicle maintenance.Also includes general repairs in these areas – electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and paintingCould include general grounds maintenance – This support will be as needed which may include, mowing, edging, aeration, fertilization, and installation/repair of automatic and manual irrigation systems.Support and work on locks and e-lock systems; wall repairs – drywall-plaster-stuccoBe on call and serve as Facilities on Duty rotation - FODServe as a member of the Flood Response Team – FRT

General Construction – Provides support of remodels and new construction projects:

This may include all facets of construction from:
- Framing, fine carpentry work, drywall, paint, roofing, and windows, electrical and plumbing, concrete, and masonry work.Glen Eyrie and Eagle Lake properties – Provides assistance as needed at either property.Use the maintenance tracking software, Maintenance Connection for assigned work.
- Complete work as assigned then comment and close work orders dailyWorks independently with minimal daily direction
- Not only does the work assigned but documents work that needs to be done
- Develops plans for getting work done
- Presents to Facilities management
- Also takes initiative with minor work and projects and gets the work done.Takes on more supervisory type responsibilities
- As needed under the direction of facilities management help supervise facilities work, staff, and volunteers
- Help with planning work and projects to include research, design, and costsAssist with training

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Office and computer related responsibilitiesMaintain all equipment and tools used on the jobThe vehicle assigned to this position is to be maintained and cleaned at least once a month.Lead volunteers in general maintenance and construction projects. Providing direction and leadership as needed for a variety of group sizes.Responsible for the care and use of all personal hand and power tools assigned to them

Additional Responsibilities

Participate in development events such as Navigator on-site events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.Read spiritually and culturally developmental books and literature.Participate in the annual, organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR) process.Submit time worked on a weekly basis through the Workday Time Tracking system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE -Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.Minimum experience of 6 years in construction, building maintenance, and electricalPreferred skill and knowledge in these additional areas are helpful:
- HVAC – general cooling and heating systems
- Boiler systems
- 3-Phase electrical systems
- Mechanical repairs
- Appliance repairPrefer 3 years running medium to heavy equipmentPeople skills required; possess the ability to work well with others.Good communication, organization and planning skills required.Proficient with general computer skills and software applications. MS Word and Excel helpful.

Compensation Range: $19-24/hour
