Andrews Laser Works, founded in 1946, specializes in the fabrication of complex assemblies from Inconel, steel, aluminum, and titanium sheet with a core competency in aero engine brackets and components.

The Maintenance Technician – Level 2 will, with minimum supervision, perform a wide variety of tasks in maintaining, repairing, and installing machinery and equipment in the plant, office and facilities and surrounding property safely.  Will maintain facilities and work area in a neat and orderly sanitary condition.  Ensures time and material are properly recorded. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Perform basic PM services on CNC and manual lathes, presses, punches, mills, air compressors and weldersPerform basic machine repairs on CNC and manual lathes, press, punches, mills, welders, water jets, grinders, air compressors, etc. Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve machine issuesAbility to research issues/parts via machine manuals or internet sources. Ability to work with outside vendors for either technical support or scheduling in expert onsite/offsite repairsBasic carpentry/plumbing/mechanical knowledgeAbility to read and writeAbility to communicate and work with other members of the shop on repairs/projectsCan use calipers and perform basic shop math.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

In-depth experience in general maintenance of all plant equipment Ability to trouble-shoot and repair critical machinery. General knowledge of plant HVAC systems a plusPhysical surroundings vary from pleasant to extreme temperatures. Additional education in applied theory is necessary.
