Maintenance Tech - Manufacturing
POSITION: Mechanical Maintenance Technician LOCATION: Shelbyville, TN 37160 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR PURPOSE OF JOB: This role is responsible for maintenance, repair, and installation of production floor equipment as well as overall maintenance and general welfare of the buildings at Shelbyville facilities. The incumbent exercises judgment in selection of proper methods and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Item Responsibility/Function %Time 1 Maintenance, Repair & Installation + Perform corrective repairs of production equipment + Perform scheduled preventative maintenance repairs of production equipment + Perform skilled duties in the repair of manufacturing machines and controls + Tear down and repair machines and equipment + Perform facilities maintenance + Assist in the installation of new machinery and necessary air & electrical hook-ups + Occasionally build machine guards, shields, and related attachments. 80% 2 + Perform other duties as delegated or assigned 20% SUPERVISION OF OTHERS: Number of people DIRECTLY supervised Title(s) or Grade Level(s) of direct report(s) None Individual Contributor JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS: Required: + Relevant associate degree from technical or community college + Two to three years’ work experience in maintenance or related field + Background working with electrical controls and equipment + Demonstrated experience in machine repair and maintenance + Ability to read technical sketches and bills of materials + Mechanically inclined + Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with coworkers and vendors Typical/expected % of overnight travel: Limited to no overnight travel, but some travel during working hours as needed.
