Overview Starting Wage: $35.98 - $41.43/hr (Based on Tech Level) Shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm (Friday - Sunday) Great things are happening at the Sister Schubert’s Horse Cave Campus and as we continue to grow the T. The position of Maintenance Tech is responsible for providing the maintenance and repair of the plant’s machinery, grounds, buildings and equipment. Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shields and aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility. Successfully acquires and maintains Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machine and safely performs all functions in accordance to OHSA and company requirements and standards. Performs daily inspection of power equipment with proper documentation. As a member of the T. Marzetti Company, completes his/her Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues when identified, and participates in problem solving. Leads and promotes a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility Completes his/her Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs), corrects issues when identified and participates in problem solving. Ensures compliance to quality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, , OSHA and other support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. Reviews, understands, and complies with all applicable SOPs containing Process or Preventive Control monitoring or verification, if trained and designated as a Qualified Individual (QI). Communicates any concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality and legality to management or to the confidential hotline if the need for anonymity is necessary. Maintains company standards for cleanliness, safety & productivity Ensures compliance to 5's, HACCP, & OSHA standards Paints & repairs any surface in or around building & grounds Capable of performing functional tasks of perquisite Maintenance Tech level(s), as applicable. Sets up & uses plasma cutter properly & safely Sets up & uses Lathe Sets up & uses Vertical Mill Performs boiler tests, cleans & repairs boilers Has basic understanding & assists in refrigeration Welds with Tig, Mig, Stick welders on mild steel & stainless Repairs & troubleshoots on mechanical problems on lifts Must be able to read P&ID Maintains, repairs, tracks, & adjust conveyor belts Can perform monthly sprinkler test Wires & troubleshoots a start /stop circuit Tool time meetings Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management MAINTENACE TECH III - Marzetti Values: Be Perceptive-see work through your customers’ and consumers’ eyes, winning is just the Beginning, Continuous Improvement, Be Accountable – stand behind what you do Capable of performing functional tasks of perquisite Maintenance Tech level(s), as applicable. Able to go online with compact, control or micrologix serial & ethernet Navigates & has basic understanding of PLC programs Replace program all different types drives & able to use the HMI Welds all types of metals with all types of welders & weld aluminum. Maintains the NH3 refrigeration system compressor Maintains the NH3 refrigeration system condenser. Maintains the NH3 refrigeration system evaps & valve stations Maintains the NH3 refrigeration system Hansen Auto Purger Maintains the NH3 refrigeration system tanks & pumps Must have good understanding of ammonia refrigeration & able to start up Maintains, operates, set-up, & troubleshoot KHS baggers Maintains, operates, set-up, & troubleshoot Ishida Scales Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and accurate troubleshooting ability are required, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. Ability to successfully work independently and as a team with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks as assigned. Must be able to successfully obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintain per company and OSHA standards. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – to and work well with Team Members, Management, Customers & Vendors. Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation, ability to properly use/operate accurate tools and good math skills are required. Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast paced environment. Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required, Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred. Working Conditions/Environment Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read and comprehend, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to push/pull 150 pounds short distances. Lifting of up to 75 pounds repetitively. Standing required for up to 12 hours shifts with regular breaks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap. The noise level in the plant is loud. SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the employee.
