A Brief Summary of This Position

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Maintenance Technician 2 position in the Midland, PA Coatings site. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will maintain and repair all Galvanizing equipment within the NA Coatings Division.

Essential Functions:

Perform light electrical work to repair or maintain company equipmentMove hazardous waste drums from still room to the hazardous waste storage areaInstall and configure new equipment as well as dismantle and replace defective or old parts and machinesWork from the direction of the Manager to support the preventative maintenance schedule, make unforeseen repairs, troubleshoot and install new or repaired equipmentPerform a variety of electrical-trade functions in the installation, maintenance or repair of equipment for generating, distribution and/or utilization of electric energy in an establishmentInstall or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layout or other specificationsLocate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipmentPerform basic weld repairs or fabricationsInstall and repair lighting up to 480VContribute to the site’s daily molten zinc recovery (MZR) processPlan and manage the repair and maintenance of all equipment and buildingsSupport crane and hoist repairsSupport basic plumbing or HVAC repairs or installationsAdjust necessary equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation

Important Details about the Role

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Three years of previous experience in an Industrial Maintenance positionA working knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systemsThe ability to demonstrate mechanical/basic electrical knowledge through testingSignificant electrical knowledge of 480/220 3-phase and 110 voltThe ability to climb and work from ladders, man lifts, bridge cranes, and roofs in excess of 80 ft.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbsThe ability to pay close attention to detail and follow work instructions Two years of previous experience operating hand and/or power toolsThe ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive mannerMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications

An Associate’s or Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or related fieldSix years of previous experience in an Industrial Maintenance positionMust have a high awareness for safety at all timesA working knowledge of metallurgy for fabrication and repair of metal structures/components
