The (Manufacturing) Make Asset Management team (MAM) is responsible for Project Management, designing and adapting installations and equipment, producing utilities and maintaining the technical installations of Janssen Biologics. Within MAM, the we are the maintenance team, who care for the production and utilities systems and equipment of the facility, and work to maintain and improve asset reliability.

In addition to our production facility in Leiden, we will be responsible for a new Janssen Supply Chain Lentiviral Vector (LVV) production facility in Sassenheim, the Netherlands, which will to support the global Janssen BCMA CAR-T program for multiple myeloma, a disease that affects approximately 160,000 patients annually. This facility is currently under construction

What is the function

As a First-Line Breakdown Technician (Multi-Skilled Technician, or MST), you are responsible for response to failures of the production and utilities assets at our sites in Leiden and Sassenheim. These assets include utility systems, laboratories, and production systems (biotechnological processes; fermentation, purification; chromatography, filtration). The malfunctions can be mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation.

In consultation with the operation, you set the right priorities. And then, in consultation with the operation, actively remedying the technical malfunction. All this while adhering to safety, compliance and GMP standards. In this position, solution-oriented work and a good eye for safety are essential.

The First-Line Breakdown Technician (MST) works in a fixed shift of 4 to 5 people that are part of a 5 week shift (3-4-3), within a shift team. A team consists of two Utility Operators and two or three MSTs. In this operational shift position (24/7), the focus is on monitoring and operating the utility systems and equipment, ensuring that continuous operation in support of manufacturing. In addition to your own efforts and skills, you will be assisted by fellow MSTs, maintenance engineers and external parties to solve the malfunctions accurately and efficiently. Your support is also provided for preventive maintenance and project activities. All work is within GMP guidelines.

What are we looking for?We are looking for a candidate with an MBO4 All-round technician in a relevant area; instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical or equivalent vocational, trade or junior-college level training from another country Experience in a highly GMP regulated pharmaceutical industry is a plus.At least 3 years of work experience as a technician or similar (breakdown technician experience is an advantage.)You hold a valid (B) driver’s licencseThis role requires knowledge/possession of:VCA and NEN3140 or other equivalent EHS and electrical safety training from another countryExperience in solving technical malfunctionsAffinity and experience with safety, especially in the field of work permits, LOTO, supervision and addressing peopleResult-oriented, enterprising and driven personality: is creative in removing obstacles and knows how to motivate the team to achieve its goals
