POSITION TITLE:   MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I

DEPARTMENT:       MAINTENANCE

REPORTS TO:        MAINTENANCE MANAGER                                                                    

 

SALARY GRADE:   1NE                                                                REVISION DATE: 8/03

 

JOB FUNCTION:

Executes the assigned duties as necessary to support technical issues required to resolve machinery maintenance and other requirements.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

[1]       Involved in application issues and supports the department with technical related skills.

[2]       Reports to management observed technical issues and problems experienced  and perceived action required to resolve these matters.

[3]       Must have an good knowledge of industrial maintenance.

[4]       Must have moderate mechanical background or moderate electrical/electronics background to include PLC’s.

[5]       Must have a good understanding of the processes.

[6]       Must understand and support the predictive and preventive maintenance programs.

[7]       Demonstrate good problem-solving skills and at all times promote safety and quality.

[8]       Must have a good understanding of plant utilities.

[9]       Maintain hand tools and use them properly.

[10]     Must demonstrate basic trouble-shooting skills.

 

EDUCATION:

High school education required.  Prefer 2 years of technical education in an engineering-related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Entry level - 2 years experience in industrial maintenance.

 

SUPERVISION:

 Moderate supervision received.  No supervisory responsibility.
