Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties; install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain production in facility equipment in accordance with safety policies and regulations, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the goals and objectives of the facility. This is a 2nd shift position.

Responsibilities: 

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages, and test equipment. Perform maintenance on motors, transformers, generators, electronic controllers, and other related electrical devices.Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical / electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specification, local and National Electrical Code, and properties of various materials.Use blueprints, schematics, and the National Electrical Code to install, modify, upgrade, and maintain circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards, machines and other related equipment. Install conduit, pull wire, install power panels and electrical services where required in accordance with the National Electrical Code and company directives.Install, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical / electronic and mechanical equipment and components.Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical / mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.Performs corrective and preventive maintenance functions as directed.Assist other maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting of plant equipment and facility infrastructure.Assist other maintenance, production and/or technical level employees.Perform other duties as required.Follow all OSHA and company safety directives.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Must be highly motivated and understand the importance of meeting the demands of production quickly, safely and with a high degree of quality to minimize the impact of maintenance operations on manufacturing throughput.

Must be able to learn basic computer skills and must possess good mechanical skills and understanding.

Must be able to stand for 10 hours and be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.

Must be comfortable with working at heights over 30ft indoors or outdoors under conditions of high heat or extreme cold and wind.

Must be team oriented and possess good communication skills. Will be responsible for carrying out instructions and reporting directly to the Maintenance Department Supervisor, as well as various Production Supervisors and Managers.
