Veterans Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will be a key member of the Veterans Inc. Maintenance team. This position supports all maintenance tasks and maintains the facilities, buildings, furnishings, and properties for all programs throughout New England.\n
The schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. \n
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:\n\nPerform scheduled shelter improvements as identified by the Supervisor and arrange for ongoing facility maintenance & repairs as requested.\nWork with the Supervisor to develop plans to address the facility needs of Veterans Inc. Programs.\nMust be able to drive all company vehicles and travel from site to site to repair and work on maintenance needs.\nMust possess or be able to pass a DOT physical within 90 days of hire. \nResponsible for the overall cleanliness of the basement and workshop.\nMaintaining proper inventory levels of emergency supplies, tarps, ice melt, tools, and disaster materials.\nMust be available for emergency on-call duties when needed and approved by supervisors, including some weekends.\nCompletes facility renovations and interior projects. Assists in the preparation of plans and follows established schedules for facility interior projects. \nMonitors progress on maintenance projects and provides a report to the Supervisor.\nProvides recommendations on facility problems and cyclical replacement items.\nPerforms manual labor and semi-skilled work in the organization's facilities and grounds, which include but are not limited to: construction and repair of electrical, mechanical, masonry, and carpentry; and the coordination and preventive maintenance of the building facilities.\n\n
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:\n\nTrade school or high school diploma graduate.\n2-5 years of general building repair and maintenance experience.\nCertificate in a trade program is preferred. \nMust have a valid driver's license.\nMust be available to work some weekend days\nMust be able to pass a CORI Background records check.\nCompliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.\n\n
