Maintenance Technician
**_Join our GROWING team in Wooster, Ohio!_** _Formerly known as Rayco Manufacturing, and now part of the_ **_Alamo Group Snow & Ice Team,_** _we manufacture heavy duty snow and ice removal equipment._ The **Maintenance Technician** is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and preventive tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of assigned equipment, building systems, and facilities. This role covers work in plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, HVAC, and general building upkeep, with a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and maintaining operational excellence. **Key Duties & Responsibilities** + Inspect equipment, machinery, and building systems to identify maintenance needs or potential hazards. + Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, determining the most effective and safe repair solutions. + Plan and perform repairs using blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, or manufacturer specifications. + Complete general repairs that do not require a licensed specialist, such as patching drywall, painting, repairing doors, and fixing building fixtures. + Conduct preventive and routine maintenance to extend the life of equipment and ensure optimal performance. + Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies. + Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE usage, and hazard reporting. + Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and regulations. + Order, store, and track supplies, tools, and materials needed for maintenance work. + Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, prioritizing safety and minimal disruption to operations. + Assist with inspections, audits, and documentation required for regulatory compliance. + Perform other related duties as assigned to support facility operations. **Required Skills & Competencies** + Knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC repairs. + Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. + Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. + Excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. + Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established protocols. **Education & Experience** + High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational, technical, or trade school certification in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related field strongly preferred. + Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on facility maintenance, building repair, or related technical experience required, industrial or manufacturing environment experience a plus. + Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. + Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and basic building code requirements preferred. + Experience performing preventive maintenance programs and documenting maintenance activities. **Physical Requirements** + Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working on ladders or in confined spaces. + Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds regularly. + Manual dexterity and physical stamina to operate tools and perform repairs. + Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and noise. + Willingness to be on-call for emergencies as needed.
