Job Summary:
Performs setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on custodial equipment. Travels to various sites in multiple states. Displays strong interpersonal skills and compassion and respect for persons with disabilities.
Essential Functions:
Inventories and logs all equipment by site and tracks maintenance and repair history Maintains logs and files of all warranty information and equipment manuals Maintains supply of parts and orders replacement parts per budgetary requirements Analyzes status of equipment and makes suggestions for repair or replacement Keeps abreast of current equipment options and suggests improvements Reads and interprets equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service Implements controls to ensure equipment consistently functions per specifications Sets up a preventative maintenance plan, schedules site visits, and performs inspections Troubleshoots and performs regular repairs, warranty repairs (if trained), and out of warranty repairs Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs when needed Provides care for electrical, mechanical, and hand equipment like carts and wheeled bins Trains site staff on proper use of equipment including inspections and clean-up Creates work instructions for proper use and maintenance of equipment Works with vendors and site management to provide training on equipment Works with vendors to earn certification in maintenance of all equipment Practices safety first and reports all safety issues immediately Maintains a clean, safe work area Uses proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for safety Passes and complies with CPR/First Aid training and OSHA training Complies with all Agency policies and procedures and follows contract specifications Establishes and maintains positive relationships with customers and staff Complies with and ensures staff compliance with all building and security requirementsSecondary Functions:

Valid driver’s license from state of residence and ability to drive License must have been valid for at least 3 years If driving a 15 passenger van, must be at least 25 years old Acceptable driving record as determined by Agency’s insurance carrier and by Chimes DC policies and proceduresEssential Personnel:

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent Technical training required AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred Certifications in equipment repair and maintenance preferred Valid CPR/FA certification preferred Knowledge about regulations for SDS, Fire and Safety, Hazard Communications, and Bloodborne PathogensExperience:
Four plus (4+) years’ experience in repair and maintenance of custodial equipment including KiVacs, floor scrubbers, buffers, riding buffers, snow blowers, vacuums Demonstrated ability to organize and administer an on-going project Demonstrated ability and knowledge of building service management as well as relevant equipment and chemicals and their applications Demonstrated ability to use computer softwareNotes:
