Maintenance Technician

The Cambridge Packaging facility is currently looking for a top notch Maintenance Technician to join our growing team on 2nd and 3rd shifts!

Job Overview

Maintenance Technician that will perform maintenance activities to fix/improve/repair items so that they function within their operating specifications. Will execute these activities, notify any new problems observed, and confirm the work is complete.

Key Accountabilities  

Using your Electrical, Mechanical or a combination of both these skills to resolve breakdown issues with minimal impact to production. Engineers are responsible for carrying out regular maintenance, process improvements and project activities to ensure equipment breakdown delay is minimized and process capability is maximized to achieve production and quality performance targets. Complete all planned maintenance activities within the specified time frame of the PM schedule. Be proactive in personal development in technical skills and knowledge required for the role and be aware of changes in engineering best practice. Ensure that all work, as directed by the Engineering Supervisor is carried out accurately, to a high standard and within agreed timescales. Requires effective decision making with respect to the cost of repairs. Strive to find better and more efficient ways of repairing and maintaining machinery. Ensure that we follow the requirements of the PACE program. Communicate directly with the operations group to develop a team approach to maintaining our assets. Use the MVP computerized maintenance management system to navigate and review work orders, checkout parts and supplies, review task records and close tasks when complete. Responsible to communicate to supervisor & record in MVP Plant the completed work orders with the relevant information (parts used, time spent, root cause, activities carried out, anything noticed during the work that needs to be followed up. Responsible to enter work orders for items discovered that needed to be repaired. Observational cards or other site specific tools to help to shape the Health and Safety behavior on our site, 2 stops cards per month are to be completed and handed to the Health and Safety Manager. Education & Certifications

Technical school and training or military technical training or equivalent experience

Job Specific Technical Requirements 

Engineering qualifications (must)
Mechanical, electrical & automation knowledge
Corrugator or Converting Manufacturing Processes experience
Service Oriented & sense of urgency.
Strong will to deliver results

Experience

Minimum 5 years in a position in a corrugated manufacturing environment (Engineering).  Good communication skills, able to work in a systematic and rigorous way
Fluent in English.
