Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and optimization of equipment and systems within production facility. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, adherence to strict safety protocols, and a commitment to operational efficiency.

Duties Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on sterilization equipment. Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repair solutions. Understand and monitor sterilization processes to ensure equipment operates within specified parameters. Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous materials and equipment.  Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Calibrate and validate sterilization equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Work closely with sterilization department staff to address equipment issues and optimize processes Participate in emergency response procedures as needed. Oversee daily operations of EO, gamma and X-ray radiation facilities to ensure optimal performance and safety. Ensure all plant activities comply with local, national, and international radiation safety regulations and standards. Duties - cont'd Analyze irradiation processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and safety. Monitor and ensure the consistent quality of irradiation processes and end products  Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors, such as Critical and Telstar, to procure necessary equipment and services. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ethylene oxide sterilization processes and systems  Identify and analyze technical problems related to ethylene oxide sterilization systems. Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and plant staff to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations. Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor/Officer (RPS/RPO) for X-ray and gamma operations, ensuring compliance with all radiation protection standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of plant operations, maintenance activities, safety inspections, and incident reports Education Degree High School Diploma or GEDVocational/Technical in Engineering ManagementRequired Experience

 

Engineering related skill, industrial automation, specializing in Siemens PLC & SCADA Knowledge or experience in switching, RF and high frequency oscillator circuit preferred Knowledge or experience in HSE procedure/ rules and regulations and COSHH requirement Good interpersonal and communication skill Minimum 5 years experinces
