Job Description

This is a Contract-Hire position for a Maintenance Technician in the Pflugerville area. The work schedule is from Mon-Fri, 7am to 3:30pm, occasional overtime including weekends may be required. The base pay rate for this role is $25/hr.

What you'll do as: Maintenance Technician

Provide planned, scheduled, unscheduled, preventative and at times reactive repairs to maximize uptime and reliability of manufacturing equipment and machinery.Ensure strict adherence to all relevant federal, local and company guidelines for safety and productivity including OSHA, ADA and other required regulations.Complete periodic maintenance of equipment and machinery to include press brakes, punching machines, welding machines, forklifts and pneumatic hand tools by following the recommended schedule.Troubleshoot complex issues with equipment using electrical and pneumatic schematics to make repairs as needed and assist operators with getting back to a productive mode.Understand sheet metal fabrication processes.Evaluate workspace safety on the production floor to ensure all staff are following guidelines regarding equipment and PPE.Maintain a clean and organized work area while completing tasks related to maintenance, repair or installation.Perform other duties as required.

Work Experience

The preferred candidate should have the following:

Able to understand and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and functions of industry standard symbols.Experienced in using testing instruments including multimeters.Able to work under minimal supervision and possess time management skills.Must have effective communication skills and work well with others in a team environment. Possess basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel and Word.Must demonstrate sound work ethics.Must have knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment.Able to read and comprehend labels and instructions and understand SDS.Must be flexible and quickly adapt to different work scenarios.Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing a plus. Must pass pre-employment criminal background checkMust pass pre-employment drug testMust be authorized to work in the United States
