Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician, at its Franklin Park location. This position is 3rd shift and will be responsible for assuring that the facilities and production equipment are properly maintained. Primary responsibilities are to repair and minimize down time while at the same time performing all the tasks in a safe manner with quality as a major objective.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform needed maintenance, repair, or rebuild of electrical equipment/motors and direct support of production operating needs. Evaluate electrical equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur, or improvements are needed Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, air compressor, security system & fire protection system. Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders. Capture and communicate associated data Maintain plant electrical systems on equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls and pumps Troubleshoot electrical issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment. Install and monitor current monitoring systems Calibrate controls instrumentation Maintain and enhance electrical and PLC troubleshooting Install, maintain, repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools and other metal working equipment Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, & departmental policies, procedures, & standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS) Work with mechanical maintenance technicians to help develop their electrical skills As directed execute projects on an as needed basis Other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
Ability to read and interpret industrial documents and electrical drawings Demonstrated knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, level controls, AC/DC drives, VFD etc Working knowledge of electrical codes including NEMA, etc Industrial electrical AC/DC troubleshooting skills Ability to identify the need for repair/rebuild industrial machinery such as motors, compressors, pumps, gear boxes, hydraulics, etc Knowledge of CMMS, SAP, MS programs Demonstrated ability to utilize electrical instrumentation (megohmmeter) Awareness of fluid motion systems, HVAC systems, dust collection systems, robotics, metering systems, etc Inter-Personnel Skills – Including the ability to be a team player. The ability to pass on information & training to others. Understanding of OSHA and industrial safety protocols Safety certifications Ability to operate mobile equipment safelyEducation and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, technical school preferred Experience working as an electrical technician in an industrial manufacturing environment Technical military specialties consideredWorking Conditions:
Activities occur inside an insulation manufacturing facility. Job includes but are not limited to exposure to the following. Temperatures exposed to both Ambient/outside temperatures. Nuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch points Noise of industrial machinery Typically, 40 hour per week with overtime as required; 3rd shift.
