Catalyst Technologies (CT) is a market leader in the syngas value chain. It develops and supplies high-value, specialty process technology and catalysts for chemicals and fuels processing to enable our customers to operate efficiently, profitably and sustainably. With CT at the forefront of the transition to sustainable chemicals and fuels, the transition to net zero is creating exciting new opportunities in this sector.

CATACEL SSR™ is a structured reforming catalyst that enables increased throughput and process intensification of conventional Steam Methane Reformers, demonstrated in Refineries Hydrogen, Methanol and Ammonia businesses. SSR has proven life cycle performance in large industrial applications. The technology has been in use globally since 2008. Equipment to manufacture the product has been commissioned, however the Operations Team, Site level procedures and systems (Finance/ERP/Logistics) have not yet been fully set up. A significant part of the role is therefore to establish a permanent manufacturing team and processes.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing predictive and preventative maintenance duties to the CATACEL SSR mechanical process line and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot mechanical problemsMaintains and repairs machines and production equipment safely and in accordance with company EHS standards as well as all legislative requirements Ensures preventative maintenance tasks are performed according to schedule along with the Maintenance Engineer Visually inspects machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctionsDismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem areaInspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, and/or other problemsRemoves and replaces worn or defective parts on equipmentRealigns and adjusts components such as pumps, motors, drive couplingsLocates damaged air and hydraulic pipes and measures, cuts, threads, and install new pipeAssist/supports Production with starting up machines and equipment to test operation following repair to acceptable handoverPerforms maintenance to include but not limited to dismantle, inspection, repair and replacement of functional partsCleans up area at the completion of maintenance and repair Perform other general facility maintenance tasks as neededTake on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed

Requirements for the role:

High School diploma or equivalent2+ years in industrial maintenance including electrical, PLC and ladder logic experience, instrumentation knowledge, mechanical diagnostics, and safetyExperienced in use of hand-held tools, machinery and equipmentComputer skills including maintenance software and PLC troubleshootingComprehends common technical vocabularyExcellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordinationConscientious, Dependable, Detail Conscious, Practical, EvaluativeFlexibility with different tasks/equipmentTroubleshooting and complex problem solving
