**Job Title: Maintenance Technician**
**Job Description**
Perform routine maintenance on equipment, determine maintenance needs, and ensure machinery is in optimal working condition.
**Responsibilities**
+ Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair.
+ Inspect or test damaged machine parts, mark defective areas, or advise supervisors of repair needs.
+ Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production specifications.
+ Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specified procedures.
+ Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
+ Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
+ Complete and document assigned Work Orders, and return to Parts Department for closure.
+ Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
+ Understand that working overtime will be required.
+ Perform duties while working safely, including identifying hazards, ensuring proper PPE is worn, maintaining a clutter-free work area, and following safety procedures and policies (e.g., LO/TO, Confined Space, Right To Know, Fall Protection).
+ Report unsafe acts and unsafe working conditions to supervision/management.
+ Ensure food safety/quality policies are followed and report all food safety/quality problems outside of realm of responsibility to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
+ Ensure a good, safe, wholesome product is produced safely.
**Essential Skills**
+ Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and repair.
+ Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
+ 3-year minimum maintenance experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
+ Ability to weld, preferably MIG, TIG, ARC, & Oxy/acetylene, and SS fabrication.
+ Knowledge of mechanical systems including chain and gear drives, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
+ Knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems and pneumatic systems.

**Work Environment**
Food production facility with a 2-2-3 shift schedule. First shift: 5:00 am - 5:30 pm; second shift: 5:00 pm - 5:00 am. Work involves 90% walking/standing, 10% sitting, and may require bending, pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., and overtime work as needed.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hurlock, Maryland.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00
