Flexible summer hours Many exciting career opportunitiesYour role on our team: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative maintenance and operation of the building automation systems which includes all plumbing, mechanical, HVAC equipment and electrical systems.
In this role, you will:
Inspects all mechanical & electrical systems daily in the building on both interior and exterior; Operates mechanical systems (i.e. on/off of heating/cooling and ventilation of building systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, heating elements, cooling towers, exhaust fans, unit heaters, hydronic heating, DX units, humidifiers, steam boilers, dehumidifiers, fire panels, pumps, alarm and pull stations, windows, fans) Operates electrical systems (i.e. generators, breaker panels) Inspects and operates all building lighting and make system adjustement when necessary Inspects and operates all plumbing in washrooms areas and inspects to ensure everything is operational Responds to and directs all service related calls and requests from the building tenants and provides solutions to all tenant and occupant types of building related issues and concerns Monitors, performs and records all preventative maintenance done on building automation equipment Records and logs daily into the Building Automated System (BAS) Performs and records water treatment Cleans, organizes and maintains all electrical and mechanical rooms Complies with all “lock out” and “tag out” procedures according to Health and Safety standards Performs all facets of the job according to Health and Safety standards Complies to Building Codes and Minto standards Record utilities monthly readings Respond to after-hours emergency calls, on call rotation Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.We would like you to have:
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a related field, or BOMA SMT/SMA, Building Technician certificate from a recognized post-secondary facility, Stationary Engineer (5th class or equivalent) or a combination of experience. Ability to take initiative, self-starter. Excellent MS Word Excel skills Knowledge of building automation systems Experience using Yardi is considered an asset. Experience with electrical and mechanical systems Life safety system experience Bilingualism considered an asset Valid driver’s license & vehicle Must have the ability to get and maintain RCMP security clearance for the duration of employmentOur future is better together.
