Maintenance Technician

What this job involves: This Maintenance Technician position provides comprehensive support for a biopharmaceutical client facility, encompassing equipment installation, relocation, general repairs, and maintenance of critical laboratory and office environments. Adhering to strict biosafety protocols and GMP standards, the role involves a diverse range of tasks including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and building system maintenance. Working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams, the technician conducts facility inspections, responds to service requests, and ensures uninterrupted functionality.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Perform routine repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various components of the physical structure of the buildings.Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, furniture, and controllers.Assist the operations team in general office maintenance.Complete special tasks that include tenant services requests, special cleaning, and general maintenance as assigned.Lead and perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building repairs.Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruption.Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.Maintain a clean and safe workplace.Oversee vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality service and adherence to safety standards.Maintain records for work completed in a neat and organized manner.Assist with successfully completing work orders.Any and all other duties assigned.

Work Schedule: 1st shift, Monday through Friday. With some flexibility.

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

Technical degree or certification in Facilities Management, Building Systems, or related field3+ years of experience in facility maintenance, preferably in biopharmaceutical or laboratory settingsDemonstrated knowledge of GMP standards and biosafety protocols in laboratory environmentsProven expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenanceExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systemsFamiliarity with regulatory compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industryCertification in specialized areas such as HVAC, electrical systems, or industrial maintenance is a plus.

Required Skills and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required.Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and facility management software; experience with CMMS is advantageous.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to prepare clear technical reports.Physical capacity to lift and move up to 50 lbs. occasionally and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods in various environmental conditions, including laboratories.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

65,000.00 – 70,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
