**Maintenance Technician | Direct Hire**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician for direct hire positions on our Afternoon Shift (3PM - 11:00PM) and Night Shift (11PM - 7AM). This role offers competitive pay rates plus a shift differential.
**Responsibilities**
+ Spend 40% of the time on electrical tasks, 50% on mechanical tasks, and 10% on fabrication.
+ Manage breakdowns, which can be about 30% of the day.
+ Read and understand technical information or data points; demonstrate solid mathematical skills.
+ Engineer new equipment and/or plumbing; perform high voltage to low voltage installation maintenance.
+ Troubleshoot machines, install controllers and counters, and manage AC-DC motor control.
+ Order new or replacement maintenance parts following the ordering process.
+ Contain and clean up spills of hazardous waste.
+ Maintain blueprints.
+ Repair and build guards using gas welding/cutting and milling machines.
+ Maintain the fire protection system.
+ Use a pipe threading machine to cut and thread pipe; make die changes to threader.
+ Be knowledgeable of high and low-pressure systems.
+ Rebuild valves, cylinders, pumps, air tools, and paint spray guns.
+ Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, repair or replace hydraulic valves and pumps, and re-engineer problem machines.
+ Weld molds and make guide pins for molds; make and repair hinges and heat platinum.
+ Service tow motors and electric forklifts, including maintaining battery charges, belts, horns, lights, wiring, tires, and hoses.
+ Maintain or repair the boiler/compressor, roof, and HVAC systems.
+ Start various pumps, compressors, blowers, chillers, presses to ensure production can begin at any given time.
+ Observe all safety rules and regulations.
+ Utilize tools and equipment such as welding equipment, cutting equipment, standard hand tools, pneumatic/power tools, drill press, milling machine, lathe, hoists, forklift, hydraulic lift tables, basic carpenter tools, metal shearer, basic mechanical tools, man lift, electric meters/PLC.
**Qualifications**
+ At least 8 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment (position is 50/50 mechanical to electrical).
+ Experience with 480v systems.
+ Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
+ Welding experience (will be welding 10% of the time).
+ PLC Troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley).

**Work Environment**
This location has 150 employees in total, with a maintenance team of 12 people (9 maintenance techs, 2 leads, and 1 manager). There are also 4 apprentices, and new employees are expected to train them. The environment is not temperature-controlled and can be very hot despite fans running 24/7. The maintenance manager is nearing retirement in the next 5-10 years, providing opportunities for growth.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $66393.00/yr.
