Job Purpose Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is seeking a qualified individual to join our Maintenance team as a Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment in line with safety, predictive, and productive maintenance protocols. This role supports the site's business goals and objectives. Principal Accountabilities **Responsibilities:** + Install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment. + Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and perform scheduled maintenance during machine service. + Execute machinist tasks and responsibilities. + Apply basic to advanced mechanical skills, including construction, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, utility, fabrication, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, troubleshooting, and repair. + Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance and service. + Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments. + Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities. + Perform advanced maintenance and carpentry functions. + Utilize various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. + Identify faulty operations, defective materials, and report any unusual situations to supervision. + Adhere to company and OSHA safety and health regulations, maintaining clean and orderly work areas. + Other duties as assigned. Knowledge / Skills / Experience **Qualifications:** + High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent education and production maintenance experience. 5+ years of manufacturing experience with mechanical, industrial, PLC, and HVAC skills. + Ability to generate creative solutions and use feedback to modify designs or projects. + Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. + Work effectively in group problem-solving situations and communicate across departments. + Maintain high ethical standards. + Show initiative and drive for results. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, engineering blueprints, and procedures. Capable of writing and submitting reports, generating scopes of work, and communicating effectively. + Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Capable of interpreting technical instructions and dealing with abstract and concrete variables. + Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. + Noise levels can be loud in the work environment. + Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. + Frequently lift/move items over 50 pounds. + Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. + May require use of OSHA respiratory protection and PPE.
