Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role requires working Monday through Saturday from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM. The primary duties will occur after production stops at 10:00 PM. You will be part of a small, tight-knit crew of five maintenance personnel, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our facility.
ResponsibilitiesPerform 80% mechanical maintenance and 20% electrical maintenance throughout the facility.Conduct maintenance and monitoring of conveyor systems, including drive shafts, gearboxes, sprockets, chains, and lubrication.Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, welding (TIG/MIG), plumbing/piping, refrigeration, and air compressor maintenance.Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including relay logic/PLC driven/computer-driven machines (no programming required).Perform proactive preventive maintenance by monitoring equipment and making necessary repairs.Respond to work orders for repairing/replacing parts throughout the facility.Attend to approximately 15 breakdowns per day, determining the appropriate response.Maintain a detailed notebook of all maintenance activities, including problems, fixes, and methods used.Essential Skills3-5+ years of conveyor maintenance experience, including PMs, drive shafts, gearboxes, sprockets, cams, chains, oiling/greasing, motors, repair and replacement.5+ years of mechanical troubleshooting experience with conveyors, gearboxes, motors, pumps, welding, refrigeration, plumbing/piping, and machinery.2+ years of electrical troubleshooting experience with relay/PLC systems, trace and trace, inputs and outputs, and viewing programs (no programming required).Strong ability to take detailed notes regarding daily maintenance activities.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the food/baking industry.Refrigeration experience.Plumbing/piping experience.Experience in a similar maintenance role.Welding skills, including TIG and MIG.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Our facility operates with a mix of older relay logic machines and state-of-the-art computer-driven equipment. The maintenance team currently consists of nine people, working together to ensure smooth operations. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, with a focus on continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of equipment functionality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DETROIT, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
