Position Summary The Maintenance Technician 1 position will be responsible for basic repairs, troubleshooting, performing preventive/predictive and emergency maintenance on all equipment as assigned. Key Role Responsibilities + Perform basic preventative maintenance on industrial machinery. + Basic troubleshooting, modification, and repair of production machinery and equipment. + Basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair as required. + Assist Manufacturing Engineering with process or equipment improvements. + Must be able to communicate effectively with Tool and Die, Engineering, Supervisors and outside vendors regarding projects and repair problems. + Ability to fabricate, weld, or machine parts as required is preferred. + Perform sequence of work to install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of production and building equipment. + Perform basic work on interior and exterior building/facilities equipment such as air compressors, HVAC units, lighting/fans and facilities restrooms. + Move and install large machinery. + Basic understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance work orders, or manufacturers manuals. + Use basic hand and power tools, machine tools and precision measuring equipment. Qualifications and Experience + High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or trade school preferred. + 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience. + Troubleshooting skills necessary, with the ability to make informed decisions. + Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail. + Basic computer skills. + Ability to work in a fast-paced; multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines. + Must be self-motivated, safety and quality conscious, and work efficiently with minimal supervision. + Fork truck operator experience preferred. + Heavy lifting required within regulations. + Able to work overtime regularly and with minimal notice to meet business needs. + Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment. **WE HAVE:** + A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day + At nVent, we believe safer systems ensure a more secure world.
