Position Summary

This multi-craft position (electrical, mechanical, and electronic) will safely provide emergency, routine, and preventative maintenance support to the operations departments.

ResponsibilitiesComply with all safety regulationsPreventative Maintenance or Continuous ImprovementTroubleshooting Mechanical, Electronic, and Electrical Industrial EquipmentPerform Quick Repair for Trouble Calls from Operating TechniciansPerform Maintenance on Mechanical, Hydraulics, Pneumatic and Electrical EquipmentTroubleshooting Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs)Perform Preventative Maintenance on equipment and systemsUse computer-based software to enter, track and analyze work activities and maintenance trendsRead and use blueprints, schematics, manuals, technical drawings, work orders, test results, machine error messagesTest fixed machineryClean and lubricate partsObserve all applicable safety rules to avoid accidents, exercise care when operating power trucks, and wear protective personal equipment when requiredApplicants must be 18 years of age or older5+ years industrial maintenance experience in a multi-craft environment; OR 3+ years of high-tech maintenance related military experience; OR Completed apprenticeship program and 2+ years industrial maintenance experience; OR Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, General Technology, Robotics, or related field and 2+ years industrial maintenance experienceAbility to function effectively in a team environment and work independentlyMaintain a clean and organized working environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWear required personal protective equipment including but not limited to flame-retardant clothing, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses, and occasionally a respirator.Adhere to facilities Safe Work Practices including but not limited to Lock Out Tag Out, line breaking, hot work, and confined spaceDemonstrate comprehensive knowledge of at least one of the following skill groups and demonstrate basic working knowledge of the other: comprehension of two of the four following basic skills and have a working knowledge of the others:Mechanical - bearings, mechanical power transmission, chain drives, belt drives, gear drives, couplings, mechanical fasteners, packing and seals, pumps, conveyors, pipe fittings and valves, boilers, steam lines and traps, fabrication, and welding, etc. principles of hydraulic and pneumatic power, hydraulic fluids, piping and sealing, process piping, reservoirs, actuators, directional controls, servo valves, pressure controls, volume controls, pumps, motors, filtration, air compressors, etc.Hydraulic / Pneumatic - principles of hydraulic and pneumatic power, hydraulic fluids, piping and sealing, process piping, reservoirs, actuators, directional controls, servo valves, pressure controls, volume controls, pumps, motors, filtration, air compressors, etc. Electrical - basic circuit laws, measurements and safety, circuit components, magnetism and electromagnetism, power distribution systems, AC power, capacitance, inductance, transformers, switchboards, motor control centers, busways, etc. Familiar with NEC codes. programmable controllers, semiconductor devices, transducers, power supplies, junction transistors, amplifiers, open and closed loop controls, robotics, electrical/electronic safety devices, etc. Electronics - programmable controllers, semiconductor devices, transducers, power supplies, junction transistors, amplifiers, open and closed loop controls, robotics, electrical/electronic safety devices, etc.

Required Physical Activities and Working Conditions:

Standing, walking, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. without assistance, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, use of hands and feet, fine motor manipulation. May be exposed to noise, vibration, odors, and dust. Work may be done indoors and outdoors. Some work is confining, greasy, dirty and performed in high and low temperatures and mechanical hazards. Job requires normal vision, walking speed, and depth perception.
