Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance technician is responsible for the care, maintenance and repair of the facility, it’s systems, grounds and all of it’s associated equipment. You will consistently monitor critical systems and perform routine maintenance and repair on boilers, utility systems, environmental monitoring systems, cold rooms, freezers and HVAC systems. Your overall contributions will directly impact our working environment by helping to eliminate production down time and ensure the reliability and good state of repair for all facility systems and production equipment. The Staff Member will be informed and aware of their role in monitoring activities for meeting the regulatory requirements for food safety and are informed of their responsibility to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Here’s more of what you’ll get to do: • Provide support to the bakery for basic electrical troubleshooting in response to emergency calls. • Assist mechanical teammates with tasks beyond electrical work as needed. • Collaborate with the project team and external control experts on specific issues or projects. • Install and set up disconnects, motors, VFDs, HMIs, and PLCs. • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) to identify issues before failure occurs. • Suggest corrective actions to address the root causes of emergency work and reduce repeat issues through follow-up work orders. • Replace, repair, adjust, and modify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment as needed. • Read and interpret electrical and control drawings to facilitate troubleshooting and system functionality. • Identify necessary parts and supplies for repairs, maintain inventory as needed, and inform the parts clerk. • Use OEM manuals as a resource for troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance. • Understand electrical energy hazards, proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and required personal protective equipment (PPE). Physical Demands and Work Environment • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Ability to push and pull, occasional use of pallet jack for Finished Goods library sample storage. • Ability to work in hot-cold environment (freezer -10’F cooler 40’F) and Oven room/area 99’F. • Ability to work in moderate high noise environment (PPE provided). • Ability to work with chemicals (PPE provided). What we require: A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in the following fields: 1. Equipment and utility repairs 2. Maintenance repair 3. Preventative maintenance 4. Electrical repairs Knowledge and experience with any Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Strong electrical troubleshooting skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Explorer, Chrome, and Teams/Zoom for effective communication within the organization. Preferences & Certificates/Licenses • Industrial maintenance, electrical and/or electronic training/experience. • Experience with both electrical and mechanical systems. • Previously NFPA70E trained. • Journeyman certification.
