Overview

The Hotel Carpenter is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining the hotel's structures and fixtures. This role involves working on a variety of projects, including furniture, doors, windows, walls, and other wooden structures, ensuring they meet the hotel's quality standards.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Construction and Repair:Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard, including furniture, cabinets, shelves, doors, and frames.Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing wooden structures within the hotel.Custom Projects:Design and build custom furniture and fixtures as needed.Collaborate with the design team to create unique pieces that align with the hotel's aesthetic.Inspection and Assessment:Conduct regular inspections of wooden structures and fixtures to identify any necessary repairs or replacements.Assess the condition of structures and determine the best course of action for repair or maintenance.Team Collaboration:Work closely with other maintenance team members to coordinate projects and ensure efficient completion.Collaborate with other departments to minimize disruptions during carpentry work.Safety and Compliance:Ensure all carpentry work complies with local building codes and safety regulations.Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all health and safety procedures.Inventory and Tools Management:Maintain an inventory of carpentry supplies and tools.Order necessary materials and manage inventory efficiently. Qualifications

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or vocational training.Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in a hotel or similar hospitality environment.Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments.
