Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Technician I will be responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, building and facilities. The job will require a broad knowledge of maintenance skills including mechanical trouble-shooting and repair of equipment, minor electrical trouble-shooting and repair of equipment, minor facility plumbing repair, welding repairs, carpentry, metal fabrication, and sheet metal duct work installation.
With provided direction, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties. Make necessary repairs or adjustments
+ Perform skilled operations such as fitting and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts
+ Help with the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, machinery and systems
+ Install, repair, rebuild, maintain and relocate existing machines and equipment
+ Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and the grounds, including lawn mowing and snow removal
+ Maintain required maintenance logs and files
+ Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Minimum two years of maintenance experience
+ Knowledge of mechanical repairs, electrical repairs, plumbing, hydraulics and carpentry
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
+ Mathematical skills
+ A bility to operate tools and equipment typically used in facilities, building and machine repair
+ The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on Materion’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion’s business requirements.
