Silgan Closures seeks Maintenance Technician II
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairs on injection and compression molding equipment, secondary and conveyance equipment, including assemblers, inserters, printers, labelers, robots, etc. The Maintenance Technician is also able to perform setups, changeovers, adjustments, preventative maintenance, repair and operations of various types of equipment to include assembly, subassembly, printing, and/or packaging machines. The company scope includes injection and compression molding operations and automation equipment in the manufacture of components serving FDA regulated markets. This is a high-speed and a controlled manufacturing environment (CME).
What you'll do:
Troubleshoot and locate the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipmentTroubleshoot and diagnose pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical malfunctions on a variety of equipmentRepair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (molding, assembly and packaging machines), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principlesRead, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection toolsPerform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipmentRepair robot arms and controls, including replacing bad boards, motors, encoders, etc.Calibrate and adjust robot pick and place locations when neededInput Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (EAM)What you'll need to have:
Technical degree preferred or equivalent technical experience (5+ years) in an industrial manufacturing environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent personal leadership and organizational skills.Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance required.Proficient computer skills to include MS Office and Microsoft Outlook.Working knowledge of CMMS.Good mathematical and analytical skills.Ability to read schematicsAccurate and trustworthy with a positive attitude that embraces change and continuous improvement in a fast paced and dynamic environment.LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER
