Maintenance Technician III

Position Summary Provide mechanical maintenance support for nVent Thermal Management RWC Manufacturing Plants. Troubleshoot equipment, make routine modifications and perform corrective & preventative maintenance. Identify, select and work with basic materials participating in the building/moving of equipment. What you will experience in this position + Participate in group brainstorms reviewing equipment performance factors; (OEE) Overall Equipment Effectiveness + Use of lean tools to identify root cause and implementation of corrective actions through PDCA for safety, quality, productivity and delivery + Participate in maintenance improvement goals leading to set up reduction, improved productivity, quality and delivery Key role responsibilities + Technical Knowledge + Must be able to provide examples of use with hand & power tools and other related mechanical/electrical equipment. + Can use measurement instruments + Carpentry and Facilities experience a plus + Technical Skills + Willing to learn and can assist and assemble parts + Has familiarity with heavy shop equipment, hand sheers, drill presses and bench grinders + Has familiarity with tap, cut and threads pipes and screws + Basic knowledge of air compressors, water systems and simple programming of remote-controlled devices + Analytical + Familiarity or able to understand simple schematics + Can make basic calculations + Supervision/Priority Setting + Can work with close supervision or independently and follow instructions + Self-learner, takes initiatives for growth in skills + Judgement/Problem Solving + Will identify/report obvious problems + Follows procedures + Oral/Written Communication + Willing to communicate clearly and openly with all levels + Open to ideas and contributing ideas that help the team address manufacturing issues + Working knowledge of computer programs such as word, excel, email and power point + Able to complete required checklists and work permits as needed + Can pass on information from vendors/contractors to responsible party + Teamwork/Training + Works as a team member remaining flexible to changing work priorities/hrs. meeting business needs + Willingly accepts and follows training and instruction, policies and safety guidelines + Project Management + Ability to complete small projects within department + Ability to lead large group projects You have + High school diploma or G.E.D + 5+ years industrial mechanical experience required + Computer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, MACPAC and the Internet. + Knowledge of plastics mfg. equipment is a plus; e.g. extruders, payoffs/take-ups, mixers, dryers, feeder systems and other plastic coated wire processes. + Knowledge of preventative maintenance and LOTO is a plus + Receptive to Lean concepts and use of the tools for continuous improvement **WE HAVE:** + A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day + At nVent, we believe safer systems ensure a more secure world. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance.
