Maintenance Technician - Relocation assistance

Our client company is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant equipment, facilities, and tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and technical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance. Schedule:
Must be flexible, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Learn set-up, operation, adjustments, and operating parameters of production equipment. Safety must always be a priority, must remedy any unsafe conditions as quickly as possible. Assess maintenance and repair problems with follow-up. Repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production, and perform plumbing and electrical work as needed. Develop and maintain strong communication with machine operators, department supervisors, and managers. Facilitate implementation of preventive maintenance schedule for production equipment & machinery. Build spare parts stock for normal wear items. Paint any areas and as necessary and repair aesthetic defects such as seals, hinges, hangers, etc., as production schedule allows. Develop a daily walk-through routine to identify and document potential problems or issues. Be on call, as needed. Serve as a role model in projecting and applying company policies and departmental SOPs, and promote a teamwork environment at all times. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum three years of experience in electrical work (single-phase, 3-phase, programming), refrigeration, welding, fabrication, forklift operation, or general building maintenance. Experience in Process Improvement and Best Practices. Industrial Refrigeration Certification is a plus. Food processing industry experience preferred. Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License. Forklift certification preferred. Strong mechanical, electrical, and technical aptitude. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel). Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Work Environment:

96% of work conducted in production areas with exposure to machinery, noise, varying temperatures, humidity, and wet conditions. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending. Exposure to food allergens in ingredients or finished products. Strong communication skills required (phone, email, face-to-face, video conferencing).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
