Weekend Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

This role ensures the site's building and production equipment are properly maintained and designed for safe, cost-effective operation. Responsibilities include identifying, justifying, and executing capital projects; overseeing machine functionality and preventive maintenance planning; ensuring the facility effectively supports operations, including necessary inventory management; maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, insurance carriers); and collaborating with other departments to enhance safety, reduce costs, improve production, and address equipment and facility concerns.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead engineering and maintenance activities for the plant. Oversee preventive maintenance, equipment utilization, parts inventory, energy and waste control, project identification and justification, troubleshooting, equipment installation, fire/loss protection, water treatment, and budget development. Monitor production activities to identify and implement system improvements that enhance productivity and reduce maintenance costs or downtime. Communicate with external vendors and resources on maintenance-related matters. Coordinate equipment design, installation, and project activities with plant management. Support environmental resource management, including waste disposal, pollution control, and regulatory compliance. Ensure compliance with facility and equipment loss protection regulations.

Working Conditions:

35% desk work, 65% production floor presence. Exposure to extreme temperatures and dirt. Work schedule: Friday–Sunday, 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility based on department needs and special projects. Requires availability for different shift operations and may involve being “on call.”
