Maintenance and Turnaround Leader
The DuPont Water Solutions business is seeking an experienced candidate to serve as Maintenance Group Leader and Turnaround Manager at the Midland, Michigan site. This person has shared responsibility and accountability for the plant assets, personnel, and the achievement of plant related business goals for Ion Exchange Resins, Copolymer, and Divinylbenzene facilities.
The Maintenance Group Leader encompasses a range of management and technical skills and a thorough understanding of plant systems, processes, policies and procedures. They will also have leadership and oversight of the maintenance team, approximately 17 talented individuals along with several embedded contractors. The leader must have excellent influencing, collaborative, interpersonal, and communication skills. Possess strong leadership values alongside mental agility, self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision or oversight. An owner mindset is a must for success.
The Midland Ion Exchange Resins Unit is a part of Michigan Operations, one of DuPont’s largest sites and home to manufacturing operations representing each of DuPont’s 3-businesses. As part of DuPont's Water and Protection portfolio, the Water Solutions business provides purification and separations technology into multiple market channels. Ion Exchange Resins are primarily used for water purification, food & beverage processing, and pharmaceuticals manufacturing. These resins are also heavily used in power generation facilities that supply electrical power to consumers around the world. As part of the local Water Solutions leadership team, they will help define and implement the business strategy at Michigan Operations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the unit’s maintenance and turnaround strategy, ensuring alignment with overall site and business to eliminate unplanned events through the implementation of reliability and maintenance strategies and services. Plans and allocates maintenance resources to meet plant objectives and maintenance budget.Responsible for executing Mechanical Integrity/Quality Assurance (MIQA) program on site in compliance with RAGAGEP and corporate DuPont standards.Works effectively with Area/Operations Leaders and production personnel to accomplish safe execution of daily maintenance tasks and area shutdowns. Provides leadership on Core Value performance, including compliance to DuPont Standards, Process Safety Management (PSM) standards, Environmental regulations, OSHA regulations and area/site EH&S policies.Primary leader of the turnaround and will ensure that Operations, Maintenance, and Projects are working together towards a successful turnaround following turnaround methodology.Managing maintenance cost budgets and turnaround schedules to meet business needs. If problems develop, the Turnaround Manager provides leadership for resolution between all functions. Resolution of purpose, timely approvals, and closure on issues are key responsibilities.Owns and manages updating and prioritizing Asset Life Extension (ALE) projects including production equipment and site infrastructure to feed into the capital project list. Works with MT and site resources to prioritize and manage capital vs. expense decisions related to ALE.Develop and promote a culture of safety to all parties involved with any turnaround activity.Collaborate with supply chain and plant personnel to align the timing of the turnaround with the plant production scheduleWorks collaboratively with Run Plant Engineers and Quality function to provide leadership to the organization in producing materials that meet customer quality and supply requirements.Conduct Turnaround Stage Gate Reviews with key stakeholders to report on budget, risks, schedule, optimization efforts and ensures TA readiness and compliance to GTM. Also ensures that action plans are established for gaps identified during the gate reviews.Creates and maintains a respectful work environment and maintains DuPont’s core values around ethics.Drives accountability in Line Organization and possesses strong sense of ownership.Sets high standards for Operational Discipline and leads the organization to drive incident investigations to root cause and completion in a timely manner. Coaches and develops direct reports and cultivates an atmosphere of learning and development in the broader Midland Water Solutions Team.Supports Midland site improvement initiatives through leadership and participation on site teams. Part of plant and site on-call rotation.Qualifications:
