Maintenance Work leader / motor vehicle operator
Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Offutt AFB Youth Center. Responsibilities 1. As a working leader, performs the following duties: Distributes and balances workload among employees. Observes work in progress to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. Ensures ESOH compliance and briefs UAZCOM plan to employees. Instructs and trains new employees. Elevates unresolved employee complaints or operational issues to supervisor. Provides input on performance, and disciplinary problems. Reports repair and maintenance requirements in according to established policy. Conducts periodic facility and playground safety inspections and corrects and reports violations. Ensures adequate stock of cleaning materials. equipment, and supplies required to perform work. Administers accountable equipment account and conducts interviews. 2. Operates and performs operator maintenance on one or more vehicles to include: platform trucks. van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, ambulances. passenger shuttle vans and cargo vans with gross weight of more than I0,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds. Operates vehicle through all kinds of traffic or over rough terrain. depending upon the type of vehicle being operated. Loads and unloads cargo by hand. Exercises caution in preventing overloading and in securing cargo to prevent damage or loss in transit and for the safety and comfort of passengers. Determines shortest and safest routes. Observes safety rules, regulations, and posted traffic controls and highway guide signs. Washes vehicles. 3. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Ability to lead 3 or more maintenance and vehicle workers, to accomplish maintenance assignments. Must have functional experience and knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, and ground upkeep and the ability lo build teams and work with others. Ability to perform basic research and apply regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation on all facility operations and vehicles. Skill to operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment. Ability to read and interpret instructions and work from sketches, work orders. and basic blueprints. Skill to plan and layout work according to instructions .. Ability to operate snow clearing equipment. Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26.000 pounds. Must have knowledge of sizes and weights of vehicles. Musi have a Commercial driver's License (CDL + passengers) if transporting 16 or more passengers, including the driver. Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds. and occasionally up to SO pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Musi be able lo read. write. and speak English. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier I (Tl)+ Child care investigation. Installation Records Check (IRC). You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
