A long-standing dedicated nonprofit organization in the Flathead Valley provides assistance programs to individuals and families in need is seeking a Major Gifts Officer. Through innovative community partnerships and mobile outreach, the team works to ensure access to nutritious food while fostering dignity and support. With a growing reach and continued expansion, this organization plays a central role in strengthening the local community and improving lives across Northwest Montana.

This role offers a unique blend of office-based collaboration, field outreach, and regional travel, providing the opportunity to work directly with donors, community leaders, and a highly engaged board and campaign committee. The Major Gifts Officer will play a pivotal role in cultivating, securing, and stewarding major gifts, while partnering with seasoned consultants and the Director of Development to drive the campaign’s success.

Essential Functions and Duties: Lead the strategic execution of a $12.5 million capital campaign, coordinating efforts with consultants, the Development Director, Board, and Campaign Committee Manage a personal portfolio of major donors and prospects, including planned giving contributors, through in-person cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship Develop and implement tailored donor engagement strategies while maintaining accurate records, timely acknowledgements, and revenue tracking in the donor database Collaborate with the Development Director to research and prepare donor profiles, oversee campaign projections and budgets, and support overall fundraising strategy Integrate major donor engagement into organizational events, coordinate donor-focused functions, and present regular progress updates to leadership Stay informed about the organization’s programs and broader food access issues to effectively communicate impact and inspire donor support
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, with at least three years of major gift fundraising experience Capital campaign experience strongly preferred Proven track record in securing five- and six-figure gifts Strong commitment to advancing food access and social equity Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills Highly organized with attention to detail; proficient in Microsoft Office and donor CRM systems Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality, with willingness to travel regionally for donor engagement
