Job Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 education or equivalentCertificate of qualification – Mould MakerGood English (both written and verbal) communication skillsMust possess strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to determine root cause and recommend countermeasuresKnowledge of Mould design / Function /  Spot in lifters and slidesMust be a self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision on large compression Moulds, Direct injection Mould and Hot Runner systems, robotic end of arm tooling etc.Ability to Machine components to tight Tolerances and high surface finishA good understanding of Hydraulic / Electrical and Cooling systems associated with MouldsRead and interpret documents such as blue prints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometryAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situationsMust be available to work midnight shifts and overtime when requiredValid Crane Operator licenseKnowledge of WHMIS/GHS

Inventor)Ability to work well independently without supervisionTIG welding experience  Automotive manufacturing experience

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Support shift with completing open action itemsProduction coverage / Change Over’s / Manufacturing Spares / Preventative Maintenance / C.I.’s/ Predictive MaintenanceCarry out daily pre-start Crane and Toolroom inspection sheetMaintain a clean and organized Toolroom / 5SEnsure clear communication of Midnight shift production related issues are passed onto all shifts and outstanding work is prioritized to be continuedMaintain good communication with Supervisor and Team Leaders by way of verbal discussions and Email.Inspects and troubleshoots new MouldsOperates Toolroom equipment effectively and safelyAssists in the tooling process as assigned while meeting the established customer requirementsModify, repair and trouble shoot Moulds while working to very close tolerances from blueprints, sketches and samplesMaintains documentation and preventive maintenance requirement of MouldsManages daily priorities for attainment of customer satisfaction, while also meeting production schedule commitments to achieve business objectivesPerforms assigned tasks within given timeframes and monitors/reports progress to the Mould Maker Team Leader or designateAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
