About the job:

The Mako Product Specialist is crucial in supporting the adoption and use of the robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) system. This role primarily focuses on Total Hip, Total Knee, and Partial Knee arthroplasties, providing specialized education and technical expertise to surgeons, clinical professors, hospital staff, and other key healthcare professionals. As an expert MPS, you will guide the understanding of CT imaging, segmentation, and preoperative planning—critical components that enable optimal outcomes using the CT-based robotic-assisted system. Your contributions will include hands-on demonstrations, in-depth training, and ongoing support to ensure successful integration and use of the robotic-assisted system in surgical procedures.

The Mako Product Specialist will possess advanced knowledge of robotic-assisted surgical system, CT imaging, and surgical planning software.  Also, be passionate about educating and empowering healthcare teams to leverage these technologies for superior patient outcomes. The role requires strong independent working skills and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

What you will be doing:

Training & Education: Provide specialized training on the robotic-assisted system, focusing on CT segmentation, preoperative planning, intraoperative balancing, and post-operative case analysis for Total Hip, Total Knee, and Partial Knee arthroplasties. Train surgeons, clinical teams, and hospital staff on system capabilities and its integration into surgical workflows.Clinical Trial Coordination: Identify and collaborate with key clinical trial sites to support evaluating and testing robotic-assisted technologies, particularly in robotic-assisted joint replacement surgeries. Assist in developing trial protocols and ensuring consistent use of Mako systems.Educational Program Development: Design and implement targeted educational programs and workshops to promote proficiency in robotic-assisted surgery techniques and Mako-specific preoperative imaging and planning.Customer & Stakeholder Interaction: Partner with surgeons, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and hospital teams to facilitate the successful adoption of robotic-assisted surgery. Provide in-depth product knowledge and troubleshooting support to ensure seamless surgical procedures and improved clinical outcomes.Product Knowledge Dissemination: Act as a subject matter expert on the robotic-assisted platform, including system setup, use, troubleshooting, and best practices. Guide internal sales and marketing teams on product features, positioning, and customer success stories.

Who are we looking for:Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, or a related field.3+ years of experience in robotic-assisted surgery, medical imaging, or a related area of healthcare technology.Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to engage with healthcare professionals at all levels.Expertise in CT imaging and surgical planning software, particularly as it relates to robotic-assisted surgery.Experience designing and delivering educational programs for healthcare professionals, focusing on advanced surgical technologies.Project management experience managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.MBA or equivalent in healthcare management or related discipline.
