Radiographers are primarily responsible for operating X-ray equipment, fluoroscopy, in theatre screening, CT scanning and MRI, to produce high-quality diagnostic images that aid in the diagnosis of patients.
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Completion of Community Service within the relevant field of work.DESIRED EXPERIENCE
2 years private practice
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
National Diploma Radiography, BTech Radiography or Bachelor’s in Diagnostic Radiography (BRad)DESIRED EDUCATION
Certificate in Mammography Intravenous cannulation course
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Operate radiology equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images Assist the Radiologist with procedures Application of Radiation protection measures to minimise radiation exposure to patients, staff, self and others (ALARA Principle) Provide accurate and comprehensive records of examinations performed Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety Quality control test as per SAHPRA Regulations Assist with modality stock control and ordering of consumables Assist with billing, procedural and ICD-10 codes
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
SAHPRA Regulations Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office) ALARA Principle Procedural and ICD-10 codes
