**Job Description** **Come join us and receive a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus!!!!** **Location:** Chicago, IL **Hospital:** RUSH University Medical Center **Department:** Breast Imaging Technical **Work Type:** Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0) **Shift:** **Shift 1** **Work Schedule:** 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 4:30:00 PM) **Summary:** As a Mammography Technologist Breast Navigator, you will be responsible for contacting patients to schedule appointments for follow-up mammograms after receiving a "code zero" result, indicating an inconclusive or incomplete mammogram. Your role is crucial in ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up care for patients, coordinating with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate the scheduling process efficiently. Additionally, you will help perform mammography examinations using specialized equipment and techniques to produce diagnostic images of the breast. **Other information:** **Required Job Qualifications:** • State licensure as a radiologic technologist. • Maintain ARRT certification in Mammography from an approved mammography program. • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mammography technologist. • Previous scheduling experience in a healthcare role. • Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for image storage and retrieval. • Knowledge of breast anatomy, physiology, and pathology. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey information and address patient concerns. • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients. • Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records or scheduling systems. • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records and documentation. • Commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations. **Disclaimer:** The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements. **Responsibilities:** Code Zero Navigating (80%) • Review patient records and identify individuals with "code zero" mammogram results requiring follow-up. • Contact patients to inform them of the need for a repeat mammogram and schedule appointments accordingly. • Explain the importance of follow-up mammography and address any questions or concerns raised by patients. • Schedule with imaging centers or healthcare facilities to arrange convenient appointment times for patients. • Communicate with healthcare providers or radiologists to obtain necessary information and ensure appropriate follow-up care. • Document all communication and appointment scheduling activities accurately in patient records or electronic health systems. • Follow established protocols and guidelines for patient confidentiality and information security. • Collaborate with administrative staff and other members of the healthcare team to streamline the scheduling process and optimize patient care. • Provide support and assistance to patients in navigating the healthcare system and accessing necessary services. Patient Care (20%) • Perform mammography examinations according to physician orders and established protocols. • Position patients and operate mammography equipment to obtain high-quality images of the breast. • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination process. • Monitor and evaluate images for quality and completeness, making adjustments as necessary. • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed. • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret and communicate imaging findings. • Adhere to all radiation safety guidelines and protocols to minimize exposure risks for patients and staff. • Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of mammography services. • Provide education and support to patients regarding mammography procedures and breast health. **Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
