Mammography Technologist | Resource/ Per-diem
**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **Position Summary:** The Mammography Technologist performs mammography examinations as well as performs and records the results of Quality Assurance and Quality control procedures. **Hours | Schedule:** + 1 Saturday per month, 8-hour shift, day shift + Flexible schedule: Select Saturdays in advance. **What the Mammography Technologist will do:** + Performs and records the results of quality assurance and quality control procedures. + Mammography Technologists trained in breast ultrasound and stereo and guided core needle biopsies assist the Radiologist with biopsies and needle localizations. + Determines whether a mammogram is screening or diagnostic study. + Performs mammography examinations and patient education on Hospital services and treatments. + Acquires patient history & explains exam and procedures, assuring that patient and/or family understand scope of exam. + Monitors safety and comfort of patient through the exam. **What the Mammography Technologist will need:** + Completion of American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) approved Radiologic Technology Program. + American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification; registry eligible in mammography. Must maintain 24 continuing education credits per biennium to maintain registry status. + Certification or recertification in Basic Life support (BLS) within three months of hire. + One year of experience as a Registered Radiographer. Registry eligible in mammography. + Ability to lift up to a maximum of 35lbs. and perform push/pull tasks that require a maximum force of 35 lbs. + Preferred: Bachelors of Science degree (BS) + Preferred: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification in mammography.
