The Mammography Technologist will meet all qualifications required of the Radiologic Technologist in addition to possessing current ARRT advanced certification(s) in Mammography in accordance with MQSA guidelines. Technologists must be current and competent in each modality. Training into stereotactic breast biopsy and wire-free localization is required.
Job Requirements Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Shall have a working knowledge of diagnostic radiography, mammography basic and advanced positioning, and special procedures specific to breast imaging. Demonstrable ability and knowledge to perform procedures competently and independently in each area of advanced certification. Must be able to perform bone densitometry scans or cross train into that modality. Participate in holiday department coverage rotation when necessary.
License/Certification Must have ARRT Registration and Certification(s) in radiography and mammography in good standing; must possess a current Oregon State Radiologic Technologist License; must maintain continuing education requirements as specified by the State of Oregon, ARRT, and MQSA compliance. Current BLS required through American Heart Association .
Education and/or Experience Must have sufficient experience to meet all requirements of the Mammography Technologist and recent clinical experience and competency in each required modality.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance Must be in generally good health with the ability to use mobile radiographic equipment as required for patient care; must be able to transport patients as appropriate as well as assist with patient transfers and lifting of patients as required. Position involves standing, walking, stooping, twisting, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 25 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment.
