To ensure the financial security of the hotel, it is necessary to maintain control over expenses, income, assets and liability. As a Management Accountant, you’ll ensure a centralised accounting, and manage hotel assets. You’ll become an expert in your accounting duties.
**A little taste of your day-to-day**
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
**Managing Work, Projects, and Policies.**
+ Coordinates and complete monthly financial report in accordance to IHG Standards.
+ Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
+ Compiles, codes, categorizes, calculates, tabulates, audits, or verifies information or data.
**Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals.**
+ Submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.
+ Coordinates and complete monthly financial report in accordance to IHG Standards in term of accurate GL posting in accordance IHG Accounting Manual, USALI standards, and approve budget lines.
+ Ensures profits and losses are posted and documented accurately as per approved budgeted.
+ Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued.
+ Maintains a strong accounting and operational control environment.
**Demonstrating and Applying Accounting Knowledge.**
+ Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
+ Keeps up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
+ Uses computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, develop financial spreadsheets, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
+ Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, and standards operation procedure.
+ Assist in the preparation of the departmental annual budget and planning of strategic goals.
+ Ensure financial control procedures and systems are ethical, legal and aligned to the hotel’s guidelines.
**Leading Accounting Teams.**
+ Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
+ Motivates and provides a work environment where employees are productive.
+ Understands how to manage in a culturally diverse work environment.
**Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities.**
+ Supports the development, mentoring and training of employees.
+ Provides constructive coaching and counselling to employees.
**Additional Responsibilities.**
+ Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
+ Demonstrates self confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
+ Informs and/or updates the executives, the peers and the subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.
+ Manages time well and possesses strong organizational skills.
+ Presents ideas, expectations and information in a concise well organized way.
+ Uses problem solving methodology for decision making and follow up.
+ Help, respond and resolve guests’ queries - follow up ensures guest satisfaction.
+ Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done.
**What we need from you?**
+ Minimum Diploma in Accounting or equivalent
+ Minimum 2 Years of related work experience
+ Judgement – Consider the possible actions to take with regards to forecasting and budgeting
+ Able to communicate with and lead colleagues
+ Adapt – to be able to work fast and complete your duties
