MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
Weatherford have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join the team in Stavanger, Norway. This role is to provide support to the Finance Controller and the Operations Controller in the provision of detailed and accurate financial information. The Management Accountant has responsibility for completing complex financial transaction in accordance with accounting principles. Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and accounting statements. Provide technical accounting advice to functional managers to help them to plan, understand and manage their financial responsibilities. Identify and solve complex problems within accounting principles. May advise or coach less-experienced accountant. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: + To work with the Finance Controller to prepare, analyse and report monthly revenue and expense variances. + Reviewing and challenging month end results, including revenue recognition, journals and accruals. + Work alongside operation and support related managers, understanding activity drivers and providing cost analysis. + Collect, monitor, and analyse relevant financial and project data to identify trends and implement improvements. + Initiate, coordinate and track financial process improvements and ensure compliance with policies. + Prepare budgets and forecasts with Senior Management Team for Scandinavia business. + Support statutory reporting and audit process. + Support Sales and Finance Controller with contract review and tender process. + To work on ad-hoc deep dive analysis, project and balance sheet reviews. + Processing of Revenue accrual journals at month end in accordance to company policies. Monitor Billing & Unbilled Receivables to ensure that the amounts reported are accurate. + Review revenue recognition policies and criteria is still sustainable in each contract/agreement Preparation of Deferred Revenue report. Preparation of operational cost and intercompany accruals. + Monthly Review of PLs before JDE close. + Interface with Operations to ensure physical A&I counts and reconciliations performed in line with policy. + Perform monthly inventory integrity checks highlighting any potential exposures to the Finance Manager and Operations Controller. + Provide assistance to Finance Controller in preparation of budgets and forecasts. Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or equivalent area of study. + 5+ years of experience in financial analysis / planning. + Must be able to coordinate, prioritize and meet deadlines in demanding environment. + Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to collaborate with others and build relationships in a global environment. + Knowledge of FP&A processes, data validation of data sets and financial literacy. + Expert level in MS office products / other financial tools used as standard today. + Must have fluent Norwegian language skills – written and spoken.
