JOB DESCRIPTION The Office of Employee Health & Wellness, Workers’ Compensation is responsible for the overall management of the State’s self-insured workers’ compensation program. Through comprehensive partnerships and initiatives, we assist in the prevention of workplace injuries and provide the necessary services such as medical care and compensation to injured State of Maine employees. This is a professional services position performing a broad range of system administration functions associated with the Risk Management Software application (RMIS) in the Office of Workers’ Compensation. Responsibilities include the administration of and maintaining the integrity of the RMIS application, gathering information, preparing reports, reviewing, evaluating and directing work. Work is performed under limited supervision. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES (A position may not be assigned all the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all the duties that may be assigned): + Performs Office Manager duties – onboarding new staff, ordering equipment, requesting access to applications, etc. + RMIS Administration/Maintenance, including troubleshooting, adding and removing users. + Develops and provides RMIS training to staff members and agency Designees. + Assists with payroll adjustments. + Oversees all electronic data interfaces. + Monitors all the imports/exports for RMIS. + Interacts with the Workers’ Compensation Board on any questions the users may have on the interpretation of the rules for electronic data interfaces. + Provides fiscal year data for actuarial reporting and prepares other reports – monthly, annual and upon request. + Assists with all audits. + Supervises the Office Assistant. + Participates in meetings and projects as assigned. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED + Knowledge of information management systems. + Knowledge and ability to use applicable computer programs. + Knowledge of desktop applications (e.g., Word, Power Point & Excel). + Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of public administration, organization, work flow, personnel management and financial procedures. + Knowledge of data collection and interpretation methods. + Keen attention to detail and accuracy. + Ability to organize well, multi-task and handle a variety of competing priorities and deadlines. + Ability to work and plan independently. + Ability to understand and apply policies and procedures. + Ability to edit and prepare reports. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships (internal and external). + Ability to oversee, review, evaluate and direct the work of others. + Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (verbal and written). + Ability to gather information from multiple sources. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Combination of related post-secondary education, or technology related work experience. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in workers’ compensation and/or basic understanding of accounting practices and controls.
