Duties and Responsibilities We are looking for a dedicated professional to join the Office of the Inspector General, Internal Audit Section, in a pivotal role. This highly responsible position requires a candidate with exceptional leadership qualities, attention to detail, sound decision-making, and critical thinking abilities, who also thrives as a team player in a dynamic environment. As a Management Review Specialist (Lead Auditor), you will plan, perform, and lead intricate compliance, financial, and performance audits within the Department, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and auditing standards. Your responsibilities will include evaluating program areas for operational efficiency and performance, and recommending improvements to enhance effectiveness, internal controls, compliance, and operational policies and procedures. Whether working independently or in collaboration with colleagues, you will conduct thorough audit fieldwork, organize and prepare comprehensive working papers, summarize key findings, and draft detailed reports with actionable recommendations to support the Department's continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, you will lead audit initiatives, coordinate audit teams, and review the outputs of audit team members. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants who possess: + A bachelor’s degreefrom an accredited college or university, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, or Communications. + An active certificationsuch as Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Inspector General Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, or a similar credential. + Experiencein analysis, planning, research, and evaluation. + Proven skillsin writing reports and/or summaries. + At least 2 yearsof professional experience, such as: + Conducting internal or external audits + Conducting financial, compliance, or performance audits + Assessing organizational risk + Recommending business process improvements Job Related Requirements + The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged. + Occasional travel is required. General Information + The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview. + Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI. + FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.
